Donors’ background: Mr. Frost is chief executive of Opko Health, a Miami company that makes pharmaceuticals and instruments to diagnose and treat eye disorders. He is also founder of Ivax Pharmaceuticals, in Miami that merged in 2006 with Teva Pharmaceutical Industries, an Israeli company.
Mr. Frost, and his wife, Patricia, pledged $35-million to the Miami Science Museum for its campaign to construct a complex that will house an aquarium and a planetarium. The museum did not disclose a payment schedule.
Mr. Frost is a trustee of the University of Miami and the Scripps Research Institute.
