The following awards have been presented for work in philanthropy, fund raising, volunteerism, and non-profit management:

Arts.The McKnight Foundation (Minneapolis) has presented its inaugural McKnight Distinguished Artist Award to Dominick Argento, composer laureate of the Minnesota Orchestra (Minneapolis) and a founder of the Minnesota Opera Company (Minneapolis). The award, which carries a $40,000 prize, will be given annually to a working artist
