The following awards have been presented for work in fund raising, nonprofit management, philanthropy, and volunteerism:

Arts and humanities.

President Clinton has announced the recipients of the 2000 National Medal of Arts, including Lewis Manilow, a long-time supporter of arts groups in Chicago, particularly in the city's theater district, where he has led efforts in the opening of the new Goodman Theatre, of which he is honorary president.
