Deductions Rose Slightly in 2007, IRS Says
Americans claimed deductions for charitable contributions worth $193.6-billion in 2007, an increase of 3.7 percent from the $186.6-billion claimed in 2006, according to new statistics released by the IRS.
After adjusting for inflation, deductions for charitable contributions rose 0.9 percent from 2006 to 2007, the tax agency said.
