As a member of Gen Y, let me add, I myself have volunteered for 4 charities in the past six months. A domestic violence charity, an immigration charity, a charity to help arts in hospitals, and a church.
Emails are way better than snailmail.
And of course we all want to help people. I was at a conference recently where someone presenting said, "Okay, raise your hand if you DON'T want to help people." Nobody raised their hand.
What might be of use to include on this list is how many of the survey participants were employed, unemployed, and what class backgrounds they came from.
