Colson, advises fund raisers at such institutions to focus on the 10 percent of potential donors who are most able to afford a large gift. Such donors contribute 85 percent of the money raised by private schools. "The development staff," the editor writes, "should pay close attention to these top prospects' perspectives, objectives, interests, and timetables
