Nonprofit Coalition Promotes Changes in Public Policies
By GRANT WILLIAMSIndependent Sector, a national coalition of charities and grant makers, has issued a set of policy recommendations that it urges presidential and Congressional candidates to adopt.
The report, "Towards a More Vibrant Society: Strengthening the Role of Nonprofits," asks candidates to encourage giving by Americans in part by endorsing legislation to allow people who do not itemize deductions on their federal income-tax returns to write off
