Nearly half of nonprofits say they have collaborated with other groups to deliver services over the past year, according to the Nonprofit Finance Fund, and 14 percent said they joined forces with other nonprofits to help reduce expenses.
But expertise and resources to support such collaborations are not always readily available. What are the steps that nonprofits need to take when considering collaboration? And how can foundations and other organizations that provide financial backing for such partnerships better support nonprofits' efforts to work together?
Join us for a live, online discussion on Tuesday, June 14, at noon U.S. Eastern time when The Chronicle will host the first of a three-part series with the Nonprofit Finance Fund.
The guests:
Chrystal Kornegay is chief executive of Urban Edge, a community-development corporation that serves several Boston neighborhoods.
Bob Van Meter is executive director of Local Initiatives Support Corporation Boston, which supports community development corporations and policy and advocacy groups in Massachusetts.
Bill Pinakiewicz is director of the New England program at the Nonprofit Finance Fund, where he manages the fund's financial and advisory services and new business development activities throughout New England.
