Enlisting Blog Readers to Support Good Causes
Tyler Green, an art critic, is challenging the readers of his Modern Art Notes blog to support small-scale arts projects and programs at needy schools throughout the country.
Just as he did last year, Mr. Green is highlighting projects already listed by DonorsChoose.org as needing support. Some of the entries need as little as a few hundred dollars to meet their goals. DonorsChoose.org accepts donations as small as $10, Mr. Green writes.
One project that his readers have already fully supported, at a cost of $303, will provide art supplies to 60 second graders at a school in southern California.
As of today, eight donors have given more than $600 to the projects Mr. Green highlights on this Web page, which is part of the DonorsChoose.org site.
In January, Mr. Green says he will list the donors who have given to the projects he highlights this month.
