Online Discussion Next Week: Recruiting a Diverse Mix of Volunteers
Mark your calendar for our online discussion next Tuesday on how to recruit a more diverse mix of volunteers.
As minority groups grow in proportion to the United States population, charities are increasingly serving more people with diverse backgrounds. In many cases, though, these same charities are relying heavily on volunteers who do not share the cultural backgrounds of the people they serve.
How can your charity overcome this divide? What are other nonprofit groups doing to recruit a more diverse mix of volunteers? And why are these efforts important?
Join us on Tuesday, Sept. 16, at noon U.S. Eastern time, when our guests will be:
- Sandra Delgado Searl, director of Hispanic mentoring at Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America, in Philadelphia
- Margarita Rodriguez-Corriere, director of the Hispanic Initiative at Junior Achievement Rocky Mountain
The Chronicle’s online discussions are free and open to everyone. People who ask questions in advance have a better chance of getting answers.
