New Campaign Seeks to Build Support for Foundations’ Work

October 18, 2010, 12:37 pm

Amelia Island, Fla.

The Philanthropy Roundtable unveiled a new campaign at its annual meeting on Friday to help educate the public about the positive impact that philanthropy has on the country.

The effort, Voices for Philanthropy, is designed to build public support for foundations and protect the field from government regulation. It comes amid concern from some donors that lawmakers increasingly view foundations as targets for new revenue and regulation.

The Philanthropy Roundtable is recruiting donors to join the campaign. They will be asked to share stories about their foundations’ successes and to encourage nonprofit and community leaders they know to help spread a positive message about philanthropy.
