The Center for Wooden Boats, a maritime museum and preservation organization in Seattle, has cut several staff positions, reduced its hours of operation, and has canceled two regatta races it had planned for September and January, according to Three Sheets Northwest, an online magazine. Center officials say the cuts are the result of a drop in donations and tighter competition for grants among Seattle nonprofits.
