A Washington lawyer who oversaw the distribution of aid after the 2001 terrorist attacks has been selected to find a fair way to distribute the $7-million donated to Virginia Tech in the wake of the April shooting rampage there, reports The New York Times.
Kenneth R. Feinberg will handle the distribution of $7-million donated for the families of Virginia Tech victims. The money comes from private sources, unlike the 9/11 money that was provided by the federal government.
Mr. Feinberg tells the paper he hopes to issue proposals for the distribution of money this month and to have the money paid out by Thanksgiving.
