Better Business Bureau’s Charity Ratings Questioned

The Better Business Bureau’s charity-rating Wise Giving Alliance and its award of accreditation seals to paying nonprofit groups are examined by USA Today.

The article compares how Wise Giving and two other leading nonprofit monitors, CharityWatch and Charity Navigator, assess nonprofit organizations’ finances and accountability, and it outlines criticisms of the Better Business Bureau’s approach, some of them leveled by CharityWatch President Daniel Borochoff.
