Buffett’s 2011 Gates Gift Valued at $1.5-Billion

Warren Buffett’s annual donation of stock in his investment firm to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is worth just over $1.5-billion this year, Bloomberg writes.

The billionaire philanthropist on Thursday turned over 19.3 million Class B shares in his Berkshire Hathaway to the foundation, to which Mr. Buffett has donated 5 percent of his stock yearly since an initial 10-million-share gift in 2006. The shares were valued at $77.77 at the end of the trading day.
