A Canadian broadcasting mogul and his wife, a breast-cancer survivor, have pledged $50-million to Toronto’s Princess Margaret Cancer Centre for work in the burgeoning field of personalized medicine, The Globe and Mail writes.

The 10-year donation is from Emmanuelle Gattuso and her husband Allan Slaight. Ms. Gattuso, who was treated at Princess Margaret, announced the gift Monday. The funds will support research into the use of genetic information to develop personalized treatment plans for cancer patients.
