Members of the House of Representatives have formed a caucus to focus on issues of importance to charities and foundations, reports The Examiner.

Rep. Robin Hayes, Republican of North Carolina, will serve as co-chair of the Congressional Philanthropy Caucus, the newspaper said. The newspaper did not identify who else would serve as co-chair.

The Examiner said that several Senators are interested in forming a caucus, too, but that no one has volunteered to lead it.

When lawmakers form a caucus, they typically work together on legislation and hold regular briefings to learn more about the issue that is the focus of the caucus.
