Director of National Women’s Art Museum Resigns

September 10, 2007, 1:12 pm

The director of the National Museum of Women in the Arts, in Washington, resigned recently, though details on her departure remain sketchy, reports The Washington Post.

Judy L. Larson had been executive director since 2002, and did not comment in the article. Board President Mary Mochary declined to discuss the reasons for Ms. Larson’s resignation.

The museum, which is in its 20th year, has seen 10 directors come and go and competes with institutions such as the National Gallery of Art and the Smithsonian museums nearby, the Post reports.

The museum’s Web site continued today to list Ms. Larson as director and does not include a statement on her resignation.
