Ex-Leaders of Feed the Children Drop Lawsuit

November 27, 2012, 9:40 am

Feed the Children founders Larry and Frances Jones have dismissed a lawsuit claiming their exit from the Oklahoma City-based anti-hunger charity was engineered by a billionaire family of Christian philanthropists, The Oklahoman writes.

Mr. Jones was fired as Feed the Children’s president in late 2009 amid a bitter management feud, and his wife left its board of directors a year later. The couple filed suit in May 2011 against David Green, head of national retail chain Hobby Lobby, and his family, who have steered much of their fortune into evangelical charities and church-building.

Peter Dobelbower, an attorney for Hobby Lobby, termed the suit an attempt to extract a financial settlement from the Greens, whom he said “had nothing to do with the controversy at Feed the Children.”
