A former president of Naral Pro-Choice New York admitted in court Wednesday that she embezzled money from the organization to pay for a summer house rental, child care, clothes and other personal items by passing them off as business expenses, the Associated Press reports
Kelli Conlin, the former head of the New York abortion-rights group, pleaded guilty and agreed to return more than $75,000 to the organization. If she does so, she will avoid jail time.
Ms. Conlin, who led the organization from 1992 until last year, was fired after the nonprofit discovered the improprieties.
