Google Gives $23-Million in Nonprofit Innovation Awards

Seven charities will receive the first Google Global Impact Awards on Tuesday, given to educate more girls and minority students in science and technology and to encourage innovation among nonprofit groups, according to the Associated Press.

Among the grantees are Charity: Water, Donorschoose.org, and the World Wildlife Fund, which will each receive $5-million, and the Smithsonian Barcode of Life, which will get $3-million to protect endangered species.
