Gun-Control Groups See Post-Newtown Donation Surge

December 19, 2012, 10:43 am

Anti-gun advocacy groups reported a spike in contributions in the immediate wake of last week’s attack at a Newtown, Conn., elementary school, surpassing the surges that followed other recent mass shootings, according to The Huffington Post.

The Coalition to Stop Gun Violence logged a record number of gifts on Friday, the day after the deadly rampage at Sandy Hook Elementary School, development director Sarah Hench said. A spokeswoman for the Brady Campaign said the group’s Web site crashed Friday despite its having boosted bandwidth after last July’s movie theater shooting in Aurora, Colo.
