J.K. Rowling, author of the Harry Potter series, has donated $15.4-million to build a research clinic at Edinburgh University to study multiple sclerosis and other degenerative diseases, the Telegraph writes.

The facility will be named after Ms. Rowling’s mother, Anne, who died from complications of multiple sclerosis at 45, the author’s current age. The gift is the largest by the Ms. Rowling and also the biggest received by the university.

Ms. Rowling has long supported efforts to combat neurological diseases and pledged to continue financing research and treatment efforts.
