An unemployed Washington, D.C., man has embarked on a yearlong project to give away $10 a day, The Washington Post reports.
Reed Sandridge started his “year of giving” effort after losing his job at a nonprofit health organization, handing out a bill daily to strangers he meets around Washington.
Mr. Sandridge said his campaign is less about the small giveaways than about spreading the idea of doing small kindnesses. He keeps track of his gifts and recipients in a notebook and is documenting the project on a blog, which lists other ways to help the people he has met.
