A Los Angeles foundation has taken a local animal charity to court, claiming it misused $2-million in donations aimed at providing care and adoption services for rescued German shepherds, report Westwood-Century City Patch and Courthouse News Service.

The Ronald and Catherine Gershman Foundation has given the Westside German Shepherd Rescue of Los Angeles $4.7-million since 2008 to stabilize the financially struggling charity and establish a new care facility for its dogs, according to the breach-of-contract suit filed last week.

The foundation alleges the charity’s founder, Robin Jampol, mismanaged the new shelter and used a portion of the donated money and equipment to move to a different facility. Ms. Jampol said she was forced to move out of the new center because the foundation cut off its funding.
