The Los Angeles Times has announced it will publish detailed files on investigations of employees and volunteers of the Boy Scouts of America who were suspected of sex offenses from 1965 to 1985, say The Washington Post and the Associated Press. The names will be redacted.
The 1,200 files were ordered public by the Oregon Supreme Court. The Times will release them at 2:30 p.m. Eastern time.
The Boy Scouts says it will report to the police any cases that were not reported earlier, which could bring a new round of prosecutions, according to the news organizations.
