The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, in Chicago, has awarded a $5-million grant to the Public Broadcasting Service’s “Frontline” documentary series, according to a press release.

The grant money will allow the television series to develop online video projects, including one in which new software would be designed to provide enhanced video of programs on the Web.

The grant money will also go toward establishing projects that will encourage audiences to actively participate in discussions related to the series.
