Mandel Foundation Gift Fulfills Israel Museum Fund Drive

December 21, 2009, 1:13 pm

With a $12-million donation from Cleveland’s Mandel Foundation, the Israel Museum, in Jerusalem, has reached its $100-million goal to support a major expansion, reports The Plain Dealer.

The gift will cover reconstruction of a wing, which is to be named for brothers Jack, Joseph, and Morten Mandel. In addition, part of the gift will pay for programming, operations, and future acquisitions. The family has long supported the Israel Museum, as well as Jewish organizations in the Cleveland area.
