New York Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg has announced five organizations to receive his two-year, $125-million donation for reducing tobacco use, reports The New York Times.

The five groups will coordinate activities and work with other organizations dedicated to tobacco control.

The anti-smoking program also incorporates a competitive grant program for organizations located in poor and middle-income countries, with priority given to groups in Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, and Russia. The two-year grants are expected to range from $50,000 to $500,000 and will be administered by the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids and the World Lung Foundation.

The Chronicle of Philanthropy reported on Mayor Bloomberg’s anti-smoking program in August.
