Correction: How Getty Parking Revenue Matches Pay Boosts

September 13, 2012, 10:27 am

Editor’s note: A post that appeared in this space suggested that increased parking fees at the Getty Museum and Villa had been used to increase compensation to top executives at the sites’ parent foundation by nearly $1.7-million over two years.

The item, based on reporting by the Southern California news Web site LA Observed, included an incorrect total for the amount of compensation paid to officials of the J. Paul Getty Trust. The correct number for executive pay is $3.5-million, and compensation rose by $500,000 from fiscal 2009 to fiscal 2011.
