New York State-based organizations have raised more than $400-million for Superstorm Sandy relief work, the Associated Press reports, citing a survey by the state’s attorney general.

Eric Schneiderman, whose office is monitoring Sandy giving, said Thursday that a handful of groups have reaped the lion’s share of post-hurricane charity, led by the American Red Cross ($188-million), the Robin Hood Foundation ($67-million), and the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City ($45-million).

Information from those organizations and 85 other charities that responded to the survey is posted on the attorney general’s Web site.
