Police in Oklahoma have been told that Larry Jones, the founder of the charity Feed the Children, approved placing hidden microphones in the offices of three executives of the charity with whom he was feuding, according to The Oklahoman.

A leadership struggle between Mr. Jones and several top officials and board members at the antihunger charity ended in August with a court settlement that saw Mr. Jones take a reduced role with the organization. A subsequent sweep of Feed the Children’s Oklahoma City headquarters revealed surveillance devices in the offices of three of the dissident executives, including Larri Sue Jones, the charity’s general counsel and Mr. Jones’s daughter.

Oklahoma law allows secretly recording one’s own conversations but not those of others. Mr. Jones declined to comment to The Oklahoman but has told others his actions were legal, the newspaper reports.
