War on Fat Draining Funds From Tobacco Fight

July 28, 2010, 1:59 pm

Funding for anti-tobacco efforts is taking a hit as governments and philanthropies switch their preventive-health focus to fighting obesity, says The New York Times.

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the nation’s largest private grant maker for anti-smoking efforts, trimmed tobacco-related grants to $4-million last year while committing $58-million to the weight issue. With Michelle Obama leading a campaign against childhood obesity, the White House steered $1.15-billion from the economic-stimulus and health-care overhaul bills toward the fight against fat, compared to $200-million for preventing tobacco use.

States are also cutting back on funds for anti-smoking programs, raising concerns among tobacco-control organizations.

$1.15 billion of ECONOMIC STIMULUS FUNDS to fight obesity?Isn’t anyone concerned about your money (and your grandchildren’s) being taken under false pretenses and being spent on whatever the hell this administration wishes? Our country and our freedoms are under constant attack by an arrogant, power-hungry, thoroughly corrupt, lazy, clueless, grossly incompetent, treasonous, racially-divisive, America-hating fraud of a President. With his legion of subversive mentors, advisers and confidants, and an insidious White House-based gang of Saul Alinsky disciples and Marxist henchmen, Barack Hussein Obama is the greatest threat to our national security, our values, our traditions, and our lives, and is unquestionably the most despicable figure in American history. With his nefarious intentions, total disregard for the will of the people, lack of leadership, manifest self-absorption, moral turpitude, abdication of the responsibilities of office, end-runs around the Constitution, endless broken promises, constant stream of lies, and ineptitude in every arena, and in view of what we now know (no thanks to the mainstream media) about his character, background, friendships and associations, and philosophy, his removal from office is urgent and imperative.Have no doubt that, if not stopped, this loathsome megalomaniac of dubious origin will be the next Adolph Hitler.

>>Have no doubt that, if not stopped, this loathsome megalomaniac of dubious origin will be the next Adolph Hitler.pclic: talk about dubious origin. The only people who rant in this vile, ignorant, monomaniacal way–and you must be the quickest winner of the Godwin Prize I’ve ever seen–are the real danger to us all. After all, spewing exactly this sort of garbage is how Hitler got started. (I win 2nd Place!)

ppcllc:try arguing your case with fewer adjectives and references to Hitler and you may find more supporters.
