Ivy Tech–the 200,000-student, statewide community college in Indiana–is seeing fund-raising success by hiring more fund raisers.
Thomas J. Snyder, the college’s president, says the institution is bolstering its 14 development offices with seasoned fund raisers from diverse backgrounds.
“The big change that we have made, and that community colleges are making across the country, is to emphasize that our development team has to be a group of very experienced professionals,” Mr. Snyder says.
The investments are paying off. The community-college system has secured more than $46-million in grants this year for work-training programs.
