How do fund raisers get their start?

Most people say they didn’t plan to become a fund raiser when they began their careers—or at least that’s what The Chronicle found when it recently posed the question to a sampling of fund raisers.

As this video shows, some people were motivated by the cause. Others wanted a career that would allow them to wear a suit every day but eventually came to find other virtues in fund raising.
