We're trying to gauge how much time nonprofit groups are spending using social networking tools like Twitter and Facebook. Please share -- and please feel welcome to add your comments.

Michael Wesolowski with http://www.mhaus.org, Have asked my FB Friends to help me post to the 75+ Groups that I post too. Each Friend has been assigned a Group or two and I message them our organizations message then they copy and paste into their assigned Groups, and then message me back when complete. Having this help has eliminated the warnings I used to get from FB from post too much.

Despite greater means of reaching potential supporters, co-host Hildy Gottlieb, author and President of the Community-Driven Institute, argues that Social Media Fundraising is
a) not sustainable
b) scarcity-based vs. strength-based
c) counterproductive if we want to create a better future for our communities

From someone who is frustrated at the amount of personal tweeting that has to be combed through - even from people who have great relevant things to say...  Here's a twitterer who filters and passes on the "Best of" from nonprofit experts:

Also: http://twitter.com/idealist_org - Idealist.org - hopefully we all know what that is!

Great question Peter!  The amount of time depends on what the organization is attempting to accomplish and also how much they conquered the learning curve.

More about that here:
