Web Site Pokes Fun at the World of Nonprofit Technology

Are you a nonprofit technology employee in need of a good laugh?

Check out LOLnptech.org (roughly translated that’s Laugh Out Loud nonprofit technology), a blog created to inject some humor in world of computers and charities.

It’s currently running a series of photos with silly, if oblique, commentary.

A recent post pokes a little fun at Second Life, the much ballyhooed virtual reality game that a number of foundations and charities are exploring.

What do you think? Does the nonprofit world need more humor? Does anyone get these tech references?

  1. Dear Ian,

I’m glad that you’re enjoying LOLnptech! Perhaps this Wikipedia article will provide a Rosetta Stone that will assist you in translating some of the more obscure jokes:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lolcats

LOLnptech is a take-off on this popular genre of geek humor, as well as a commentary on the state of nonprofit technology.

    Best regards from Deborah

  3. Deborah, thanks for the Wikipedia link.

And LOLnptech, thanks for the information about the grant program. It’ll be the first we’ve ever listed under “geek,” “jokez” and, uh, “big grant.”
