The director of finance at Opera Theatre of Saint Louis is
responsible for all financial reporting and has oversight for all
accounting procedures, human resources, and benefits
administration. The director of finance will produce financial
statements, handle budget and financial analysis, benefit
administration, manage an accounting staff of two, and assist with
strategic planning. The director of finance will be responsible for
all short term cash management and insurance issues and will work
with an investment committee to monitor endowment investments. This
position will interface with outside auditors, legal counsel,
financial institutions, and board committees. This director of
finance will report directly to the General Director.
Bachelor's degree in accounting and experience with non-profit
accounting rules is required with a CPA strongly preferred.
Experience with supervision of accounting staff, financial
statement preparation, budgeting, financial modeling, and some
human resources experience is preferred, as is seven plus years of
experience. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is
required.

1) Ability to work with minimal direction and to find answers to
complicated problems with no other internal resources.
2) Interpersonal skills for interaction with staff and board
members.
3) Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in daily
tasks.
4) Knowledge of non-profit accounting.
5) Experience with an accounting software package, Sage software
preferred
