The Los Angeles Philharmonic Association is currently seeking a:

Senior Manager, Annual Fund/Membership

Founded in 1919, the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association's mission is to perform, present, and promote music in its varied forms at the highest level of excellence to a diverse and large audience, both at the Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Hollywood Bowl. The Los Angeles Philharmonic Association is dedicated to continuing its pre-eminent status in the music world of the 21st century.

Position Summary:
Responsible for acquiring, upgrading, renewing and servicing all annual donors under $10,000 and identifying and cultivating prospects for major gifts. Plan and implement with Deputy Director the direct mail, telefunding and online campaigns, personal solicitation and cultivation, stewardship programs, donor events, membership benefits and fulfillment. Manage all activities of the direct response campaign, including campaign logistics, direct mail and telefunding solicitation and pledge fulfillment and integrate donors into the annual giving cycle. The role in seeking, evaluating and recommending new strategies is significant.

Position Elements:
· Strategize, execute and evaluate annual fund direct mail, telefunding and online solicitation campaigns, including Friends, subscription add-on and donor valet parking campaigns. Serve as primary liaison with telefunding, direct mail, and list management vendors.
· Research and identify new methods and techniques to boost results and minimize expenses. Evaluate changing direct response fundraising trends and technologies, formulate and implement new strategies that will result in greater donor productivity and the most efficient use possible of fundraising expense dollars. Streamline methods that integrate marketing channels (phone, mail, online, onsite, etc.).
· Develop and manage a separate giving track to build donor participation and revenue in the "mid-range" ($1,500-$9,999) giving levels. Determine strategy and methodology, identify, solicit and manage donors in the program and cultivate for increases to major giving levels.
· Determine short and long-term plans, including new strategies, to raise more funds in the annual campaign. Work closely with Deputy Director of Development, Senior Manager Development Operations, Major Gifts officers, Volunteers and Special Events staff, and others in the organization to carry out a coordinated strategy of institutional advancement for the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association.
· Plan Friends membership program and benefits and oversee year-round benefits fulfillment.
· Collaborate with Database Manager to coordinate acknowledgment letters and year-end receipts. Draft, revise, and edit acknowledgment letters.
· Supervise staff and orchestra campaigns including renewal and acquisition efforts, benefits fulfillment, and acknowledgement.
· Handle all tribute and memorial gifts; Lock Box: liaison with bank and database team, and oversee coding of gifts.
· Provide regular contribution status updates on all levels of annual giving and other campaigns as directed.
· Assist with other fund raising activities as assigned by the Deputy Director of Development. Coordinate any and all annual solicitation with the Deputy Director of Development.

Position Requirements:
· Extensive computer knowledge necessary (Word, Excel, Raisers Edge)
· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
· Background in development and direct response fundraising (2 -3 years), including experience with direct mail, telefunding and online fundraising planning, practices and techniques
· Knowledge of analytics for response analysis, program evaluation and campaign planning
· Strong critical thinking and organizational and skills
· Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, work with others, increase giving year to year, work some evenings and weekends
· Have high ethical standards, work as part of a team and on your own, and treat people with respect
