Philanthropy Officer
Cancer Care Programs
South Shore Hospital
South Weymouth, MA
The South Shore Hospital Charitable Foundation generates
philanthropic support for South Shore Hospital (SSH) and its home
health care programs: South Shore Visiting Nurse Association and
Hospice of the South Shore. We are currently seeking a Philanthropy
Officer for our Cancer Care programs.
The Philanthropy Officer is responsible for the implementation and
success of a comprehensive fundraising program that maximizes
philanthropic support from the community for Cancer Care programs
at South Shore Hospital. Demonstrated ability to think
innovatively, represent the best interests of SSH, its patients and
its donors, and to function as a steward of philanthropy, to meet
robust financial goals.
Qualifications:
*Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
*CFRE in fundraising desirable.
*5 to 10 years of major gift fundraising or leadership level Annual
Fund experience, preferably in a health-care environment.
*Proven track record in soliciting and closing major gifts of over
$25,000.
*Excellent presentation and communication skills required.
*Grant and proposal writing experience a significant plus.
*Strong interpersonal skills, negotiation skills and a proven
ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
with representatives of community-based organizations, community
business leaders, health care systems, and with affluent and
influential constituencies.
*Proven experience in volunteer recruitment, training, and
management.
*Campaign experience and a background with Raiser's Edge are
definite assets.
*Commitment to the mission, values, and goals of South Shore
Hospital.
