Summary
The Director will assist in developing the overall strategy and
manage Save the Children's engagement of program advisory boards to
promote advocacy and fundraising as well as program, campaign and
brand awareness. The Director will serve as the chief architect and
point person for the HEART campaign, an ongoing fundraising
campaign. The Director reports to the Senior Director, Board
Relations and Council Engagement. The Director will stay informed
on program issues related to Livelihoods programming for example
and inform key members of Resource Development on program
priorities and funding needs. Responsibilities Provide day-to-day
leadership, direction and oversight of a multifaceted engagement
strategy for volunteer program advisory boards, that enhances
Resource Development's (RD) efforts, provides support and advocacy
for program areas and utilizes the various networks and skills of
council members to assist in expanding the support base of
programs; Assist Senior Director in reviewing existing strategies
and programs and implement operational plans and adopt best
practices, develop strategy for growth; coordinate HEART capital
campaign strategy; Coordinate with Resource Development department
regarding program priorities and funding needs; Coordinate with
cross - functional teams Director will serve as the primary
relationship manager with RD for the Livelihoods and Education
program advisory boards Develop support materials for program
advisory boards in Education, Livelihoods, and as requested,
Newborn and Child Survival; Standardize policies with respect to
committee structures and leadership roles and responsibilities
Coordinate with marketing and web design teams in developing
promotional materials for programs and the HEART capital campaign;
This includes brochures, fundraising briefs, concept pieces and
microsite development Design, plan and encourage field visits to
promote advisory board member engagement and enthusiasm; visit
programs in the field; accompany donors on field visit as needed
Assist Senior Director and VP, Resource Development in the
development and support of a Programs Committee of the Board of
Trustees who serve on Program Advisory Boards Coordinate closely
with internal and external audiences on advisory board and capital
campaign and leadership transitions; identify possible program
areas for volunteer engagement expansion. Requirements BA required
Minimum 7-8 years' direct experience in the areas of volunteer
engagement and management or relationship management; Cause
marketing, and advocacy, educational programming, fundraising
and/or public relations Knowledge of international development
Demonstrated experience working with volunteers, fiduciary and/or
advisory boards, education experts, public relations professionals,
policy makers and fundraisers Exceptional communication skills,
program management, marketing and analytical skills required
Ability to travel at least 20% of the time Proven skills in
relationship building with external and internal stakeholders;
exceptional interpersonal skills and judgment; able to work in a
fast -paced environment handling multiple priorities Ability to
problem solve; prioritize, meet deadlines Team player Employee Type
