Job Title: Executive Director
Location: Orange County, CA
Status: Full Time exempt Employee
Seeking an Executive Director to lead a nonprofit organization in
Orange County, CA. Ideal candidate will be professional, energetic,
have success in fundraising and experience interfacing with
corporate decision-makers and community leaders and gaining their
support. Background in executive level management and/or Executive
Director experience is necessary. Excellent leadership and
communications skills; planning, organizing and coaching required.
Responsible to build base of sustainable funding and oversight of
all programs, and will be accountable to the Board of Directors.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop/implement a fund development plan creating a compelling
message for ongoing donor support, expansion of financial base and
sustainable funding
- 50% of time spent growing strong community relations and
financial support
- Responsible for development and management of operating
budget
- Develop and maintain annual operating plan and long-range
strategic plans
- Direct, research, and implement funding opportunities through
Grant submissions
- Direct and implement marketing and PR plans
- Executive level management of all staff and programs
- Proactively promote the agency mission and services within the
community
Expected Accomplishments in first year:
- Create and implement a comprehensive Fund Development Plan to
include targeted funding sources and expected income
- Develop and continue relationships and gain sustainable corporate
support in excess of $100K
- Focus and complete strategic initiatives as defined in agency
plan
- Effectively manage the agency and staff through proper delegation
of responsibilities with measurable results
Qualifications:
- Experienced executive level manager with proven record of
success
- Thorough understanding of Accounting Principles and financial
reporting
- Excellent computer skills (Word, Power Point, Excel, QB, Type
50wpm)
- Excellent written, verbal and communication skills. Strategic
processing.
- Proven success in Fund Development
- Prior success working closely with and building relationships
with staff, partnerships, donors and a Board of Directors
- High level of personal and professional integrity and
trustworthiness
- Works well independently as well as part of a team
- Has a passion for the mission and strong desire to succeed.
- Non profit experience a plus. Ability to multi-task
- Established Orange County contacts a plus
- Minimum four year college degree or higher education
- Valid CDL with good DMV record, must have reliable
transportation, able to drive for work purposes. Able to perform
all functions of position.
- Perform and complete projects as directed by Board of
Directors
