The Center for Assessment and Policy Development, in Trenton, N.J., maintains a site that offers "Evaluation Tools for Racial Equity." In addition to guiding organizations through the process of measuring the success of their work on issues related to race and ethnicity, the site includes a glossary of terms and a page of links to other relevant online resources. The Council on Foundations' Web site includes a home page for its diversity efforts, which features news about such efforts throughout the grant-making world, samples of inclusion statements that can be adapted and used by organizations, and a list of books and other resources. The Cultural Competency Initiative, now in its fourth year as a project of the Alliance for Nonprofit Management, a Washington umbrella group for consultants who advise nonprofit organizations, runs training sessions for its members to help them become more adept at working with people of different backgrounds. The program also maintains a list of links to articles, research, and other resources related to the topics of diversity and inclusion.

Inclusiveness at Work: How to Build Inclusive Nonprofit Organizations, by Katherine Pease (Denver Foundation, $35), maps out plans for nonprofit organizations to make their staffs more diverse and include a wide range of perspectives as they design and put their programs into place.

The Nonprofit Sector Workforce Coalition, a group formed last year of more than 60 nonprofit organizations, maintains a comprehensive online roundup of recent research and articles about a range of topics related to nonprofit employment, including diversity issues. It is located on the American Humanics Web site.

Perspectives From the Pipeline, a blog produced by Rosetta Thurman, director of development and finance at the Nonprofit Roundtable of Greater Washington, focuses on young nonprofit managers, particularly those who are members of minority groups.

The Philanthropic Initiative for Racial Equity, a project of the Leadership Education in Civil Rights Education Fund, in Washington, includes several resources on its Web site that concern philanthropy and diversity.
