The US Fund invites qualified applicants to apply for the position of Senior Director, Leadership Gifts based in the NYC National Headquarters.
Reporting to the Vice President for Development, the Senior Director will establish the vision and strategies to achieve an ambitious 5-year Strategic Plan through securing leadership level gifts of $100,000 and more to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF. The primary responsibility of the Senior Director will be to advance fundraising of the Board of Directors, both through personal solicitations and effective management of a fundraising team and senior leadership. The Senior Director will lead a dynamic team of staff solicitors working with high net worth donors and prospects throughout the United States and grow the number, breadth, and giving levels of top philanthropists to the US Fund for UNICEF. A key member of the team, he or she will collaborate with the President, Senior Vice President for Development, and Board of Directors; manage the National Development Committee; serve as strategic support for the Vice President for Development; and work laterally with team members in the national office and five regional offices to shape top donor strategies.
Key Responsibilities/Outcomes (include but are not limited to):
·Establishing the vision for leadership giving so as to position the US Fund for UNICEF as the top humanitarian and children's organization to support among top philanthropists.
·Directing, leading, and inspiring a cohesive team of fundraisers.
·Providing strategic support to Vice President for Development.
·Working in partnership with the President & CEO, Vice President for Development, Senior Vice President for Development, and others to design and implement effective strategies to cultivate, steward, and solicit the Board of Directors, their contacts, and other leadership level philanthropists who give $100,000+ gifts.
·Shaping and supporting the National Development Committee.
·Establishing innovative recognition and engagement strategies.
·Becoming the architect for our women philanthropist strategy and plan for growth in other key philanthropic markets.
·Overseeing and effectively managing revenue and expense budgets.
·Collaborating with US Fund departments to refine and create an effective support network to close gifts, including public relations, communications, finance, human resources, prospect research, and program development.
Qualifications
·Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 10+ years related development experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
·Significant major gift fundraising, board development and management, portfolio management, and campaign experience, with a proven success record in cultivation and solicitation of 6+ figure gifts required.
·Superior interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
·Must possess a strong work ethic, and be a motivated, enthusiastic team player who embraces the mission of the U. S. Fund for UNICEF.
·Must be flexible to travel, as needed.
