Position: Major Gift Officer
Organization: Intercollegiate Studies Institute
Location: Delaware

This position's primary objective is developing long-term philanthropic relationships with individual donors and prospects, with the ultimate goal of soliciting these individuals for a major gift to ISI.

·Maintain a portfolio of 150-175 prospects rated at $100,000 and higher.
·Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Institutional Advancement, lead a comprehensive program to identify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts from current ISI donors, alumni, event participants and referrals.
·Recruit and manage local host committees for regional ISI events.
·Conduct a minimum of 10 face-to-face visits per month and 10 phone calls daily.
·Submit proposals to qualified prospects, minimally at the $10,000 level, adding a minimum of $500,000 to the pipeline annually.
·Identification, cultivation and solicitation of foundations and corporations, in collaboration with our corporate/foundation staff.

Must possess initiative, leadership, creative energy, well-refined organizational skills and proven expertise as a fundraiser.
·Strong personal and persuasive skills; strong negotiating skills.
·Personal passion for the traditions of Western Civilization and our American heritage
·Familiarity with the American Conservative movement
·Ability to independently plan, execute and monitor progress.
·Superior communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to persuasively promote ISI's mission to further in successive generations of college youth a better understanding of the values and institutions that sustain a free and humane society. Effectively communicate complex information to both lay and professional audiences. Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to relate well to individuals from diverse backgrounds. Must maintain and exhibit the highest standards of ethical conduct.
·Organizational and managerial skills involving administrative processes and in working with colleagues and support staff.
·Ability to work as an integral part of a fundraising team.
·Advanced Microsoft Office and database experience required. Raiser's Edge experience preferred.
·Travel, local and regional, required.
