OVERVIEW

The Deputy Director, Global Health manages projects and initiatives, partnerships and communications, reviews and oversees grants and budgets, and helps operationalize activities related to the Global Health portfolio under the direction of the Vice President for Global Health and in collaboration with other UN Foundation staff.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS/SCOPE

The Deputy Director, Global Health reports to the Vice President for Global Health, is a member of the Global Health Team and works closely with the Public Affairs and Partnership Development Staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DELIVERABLES

·Provides assistance and management of UN Foundation's Global Health Department projects and initiatives, including management of fiduciaries, public affairs, partnerships and grants administration.

·Assist the Vice President for Global Health with management of external relationships and partners.

·Assist the Vice President for Global Health in developing strategies and proposals in Global Health.

·Conduct research, prepare briefings for President and Executive Vice President, draft talking points for speeches, write communications materials for UNF/BWF Board and senior staff in matters related to Global Health.

·Interface with the grants and finance department to oversee grants process.

·Plan and convene meetings, workshops, and consultations to support the work of Global Health.

·Work with Communications staff to develop content in Global Health pages on the UN Foundation's website.

·Represent the UN Foundation at outside meetings and professional gatherings.

·Other duties as assigned.

SELECTION CRITERIA

·Master's degree in relevant field;

·Minimum of 8 years experience in the field of global health, global development and/or international affairs;

·Ability to drive projects from inception to implementation;

·Proven ability to work across departments to accomplish mission;

·Strong communications, research, and project management skills;

·Flexibility and a team player;

·Self starter;

·Ability to develop, maintain, and enjoy effective working relationships with people from a wide variety of organizations and with a wide variety of functional expertise;

·Previous experience administering and monitoring commitments to and from external partners and other departments;

·Previous experience developing written materials (analyses, reports, talking points, etc.) for senior executives and members of boards of directors;

·Previous experience coordinating and monitoring the work of departmental colleagues;

·Stress tolerance and resilience;

·Communications skills (listen, speaking, and writing);

·Continuous learning skills and the ability to synthesize information;

·Multi-sector experience; and

·Multi-cultural experience.

LOCATION

UNF is located at 1800 Massachusetts Avenue, Suite 400 in Washington D.C. (Metro: Dupont Circle).

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Salary commensurate with experience. Actual salary will depend on qualifications and anticipated contribution to the Foundation.

UNF pays 100% of medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance premiums for its employees and 75% of medical and vision for employees' dependents.

In addition, UNF provides 20 days of paid vacation per year, 12 paid holidays, three personal days per year, an immediately vested 150% matching 403(b) contribution up to a limit of six-percent of employee pay, Metro Pass benefits, and flexible spending accounts for health and dependent care.
