Position: Accounting Assistant
Organization: National Brain Tumor Society
Location: Massachusetts

The National Brain Tumor Society is a progressive and thriving nationwide non-profit organization based in San Francisco, CA and Watertown, MA. NBTS is the preeminent nonprofit corporation investing in brain tumor research and providing support to those impacted by this illness. The Accounting Assistant works closely with the Controller and Staff Accountant in running the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
·Process accounts payable
·Process daily check deposits utilizing Remote Deposit Online Scanner
·Update and manage accounting files
·Compile and review source documents such as invoices, vouchers and cash receipts for completeness and accuracy
·Performs complex clerical and entry-level accounting activities
·Provide backup telephone coverage
·Assist with annual audit
·Assist with ad hoc projects as needed
·Provide administrative assistance as needed

Qualifications:
·Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
·One to three years of similar experience
·General knowledge of GAAP and understanding of general ledger accounts and how they relate to invoices
·Strong MS Excel skills
·Experience with Great Plains is a plus
·Must be detail-oriented and a flexible team player
