Major Gifts Director

The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, seeks a professional fund-raiser to lead its major gifts and resource development program. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, this position will lead, train and mentor major gift fund-raisers throughout the Southern USA. A proven track record in the management of individual, corporate, foundation, grant-seeking, and special events fund-raising is essential. Bachelors degree and 10 years experience desirable.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge and support of The Salvation Army mission and philosophy with specific support of both spiritual and social program activities. Knowledge of up-to-date principles and practices of one-to-one individual, corporate, foundation, grant-seeking, and special events fund raising. Knowledge of and ability to interpret charitable solicitation laws, The Salvation Army policies, and local, state, and federal laws as they relate to fund raising and charitable solicitation. Knowledge of the recruitment and selection process to secure quality resource development personnel throughout the Southern Territory. Knowledge of donor records management and administration as well as data and trend analysis. Knowledge of the principles and practices of budgeting and resource management. Knowledge of the principles and practices of effective non-profit communications and public relations.
