Position: Executive Director
Organization: Gary E. Milgard Family Foundation
Location: Washington
Date posted: 10/28/2009

Application deadline: 11/15/2009
Are you looking for an opportunity to shape and lead a well-funded, well-established family foundation with a reputation for driving positive community change? Are you inspired to pursue a leadership position in philanthropy? The Milgard family has lived in western Washington for several generations and has earned respect and a legacy built on trust, integrity, and a commitment to striving for the best.

Working with the Board, the Executive Director (ED) will be responsible for fully developing and implementing the Foundation's vision. Through strong grant administration, this individual will lead the philanthropic initiatives of the Foundation and support organizations that align with its mission. As the primary Foundation spokesperson, the ideal candidate will be a polished, yet approachable strategic visionary with proven experience growing and developing small organizations. We seek an individual with integrity, loyalty, and a strong work ethic. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to have a significant impact in shaping and growing a foundation with the guidance of a small, open-minded Board.

A bachelor's degree is required and an advanced degree would be a valuable asset. Candidates should possess a minimum of 7-10 years of significant executive, administrative and managerial experience. Non-profit leadership experience is desirable with demonstrated community leadership experience by serving on Boards, or significant committees or task forces. Preferred candidates will have experience working for or closely with small to medium size foundations.
