Position: Senior Implementation Director
Organization: Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health

The International Center for AIDS Care and Treatment Programs (ICAP) at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health is seeking an experienced international public health development professional who provides overall strategic and programmatic guidance for the management of ICAP Country Programs that support HIV prevention, care and treatment as well as other health services. The Senior Implementation Director is a member of the ICAP Leadership Group and supervises the Regional Program Directors. In this capacity the Senior Implementation Director has overall responsibility of ensuring that ICAP Country Programs achieve program goals, objectives, and targets as well as ensuring that all donor requirements are met.


Minimum Qualifications:

· Master's Degree in Public Health or related field plus 10 years experience with HIV/AIDS programs, international health, or development programs.
· International health or public health development or management experience as well as HIV/AIDS programmatic experience is required.
· Experience supervising staff; demonstrated ability to motivate staff and build effective teams.
· Experience working with USG donor agencies and familiarity with USG grantee policies rules and regulations is desirable.
· Experience developing progress reports, workplans and budgets.
· Excellent interpersonal and team building skills
· Exceptional writing and oral communication skills.
· Ability to use Word and PowerPoint to develop documents/presentations and Excel for moderately complex spreadsheets.
· Sensitivity to cultural differences and understanding of the complex political and social issues related to HIV/AIDS in resource-limited settings as well as the health services structures within these settings.
· Ability to work well with others and to develop and maintain compatibility among project staff, donors, sub-contractors and other partners in a fast-paced work environment.
· Significant (30%) international travel is required, including travel to and within multiple African countries.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Advanced degree in Medicine or Nursing
